OKLAHOMA CITY – A contract was awarded this month for road improvements in Canadian County, Sen. Ron Justice and Rep. Mike Sanders recently announced.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, the project will include resurfacing, of nearly three miles of I-40B beginning one mile east of the I-40 eastbound off ramp, extending east.
Justice (R-Chickasha) said the State Transportation Commission awarded a just over $500,000 contract on the project to Haskell Lemon Construction Company. The Oklahoma City company was the lower of two bidders for the job. Sanders (R-Kingfisher), responded to the contract stating, “Improving our infrastructure will only enhance public safety and will create economic development in Canadian County.”
Once construction begins, the project is estimated to be completed in just over a month.
