Positively Thanksgiving

By Rep. Mike Sanders

As a state government reformer, it is easy to get caught up in the negative, so I am grateful for the reminder provided by Thanksgiving to reflect on the many blessings Oklahoma offers.

I count Nellie and my two boys, Davis and Walker, as first and foremost among my personal blessings. Oklahoma has offered our family many blessings – an affordable cost of living, a safe and free community to grow in and access to a quality education.

There are many individuals who contribute to the blessings we enjoy. Our military men and women, along with first responders, firefighters and law enforcement keep us safe. The hardworking teachers of Oklahoma help us to raise our children in the best traditions of our state and of our country.

As an American, I rejoice in the God who has given us life and freedom and in the Founding Fathers for their wisdom in founding this country on the ideals of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

We should all be grateful for having the fortune of growing up in this country and being able to continue the traditions of our forefathers and pass them onto our children.

I hope that you will continue to count me among your blessings and come to me with your concerns. I can be reached at (405) 557-7407.
